Posted by Nathan: Saturday, Kaleb enjoyed his first "hunt". We went to a local subdivision and set up our blinds & decoys and called in the ducks and geese. I put him inside the laydown blind while I sat outside. He would cover up inside the blind while I would "see the ducks coming". He would start blowing on his call and once they got close enough to "take 'em" he would push open the blind, find his gun, and shoot 'em down. (I would wait for him to get his gun up and then I would throw a dead duck into the water.) We would send Callie (my lab) to fetch it up. He wouldn't even wait for her to hit the water before he was covering himself back up and waiting for the next duck or goose to mistakenly fly close by!
I hope that you will be able to enjoy just a glimpse into a perfect day playing (I mean "working" to put meat on the table) as we did.

From Mommy: Before they left on their 'hunt', Kaleb came and gave me a kiss and said, "call me up sometime, mom...we are going hunting." He then strutted off in his camo holding his shot-gun. Precious moments and so glad Daddy loaded all the stuff just to take him on a pretend hunt. (I wonder how it will be when he really can go hunting for days with daddy!) When they got home, Kaleb was still strutting...as you could only imagine!
