Headed to Oregon!

It is so hard to plan around anyone having birth! =) It's just nice to know my sissy has delivered her little man and now we will get to spend 2 weeks with them! Audrin was induced Monday, the 11th for some complications. By Thursday morning she still wasn't progressing enough and Bubbles (that is what we called him since we didn't know if baby was a he or a she) heart rate kept dropping. So, they ended up doing a c-section Thurs. morning! I've been on pins and needles to get to Oregon since Ole John arrived!

Kaleb, Mariah and I left from Denver, CO this afternoon (Saturday) and got into Portland this evening. The Maloney's met us at the airport and gave us their car to borrow while we are here. So sweet. It is a very nice 'ride' and I hardly knew how to drive it so getting on the Portland freeway was a little challenging especially when Kaleb says, "mom, there is a spider coming towards you" and all the sudden I see this spider drop down beside me. Of course, I didn't need to crash this beautiful car over a spider but it's hard to keep your eyes on the road when you have this huge spider crawling around near your legs! In the meantime the GPS is telling me to exit and so as I pull over I almost hit a barcade. Then, the Maloney's flew by us with a very worried look. I tried to find my phone and realized it was dead....I left my car charger at home! Now, what? Nathan is at home waiting on my call, the Maloney's are worried about me and I can't make a call! So, the beginning of this trip was very 'exciting'! I finally found a Burger King and pulled in to charge my phone....oh brother. I am sooo ready to see my sister!

Two hours later (8:30pm) I was sitting in my sisters room holding my sweet new nephew! Audrin is still in the hospital for her high blood pressure and will probably not go home until Monday! Ole is so handsome! I am sooo thankful I get to 'eat' him up for the next 2 weeks!
Sunday, October 17th

The kids and I stayed at Audrin and David's apt last night. Audrin won't be dismissed until tomorrow. We met Kurt and Renee Goodson for meeting and they quickly became the kids new gparents! =) They had us over for lunch and then the kids stayed at their place to play while I went up to be with Audrin for awhile. What a wonderful relief to have Kurt and Renee to help me! They have been most gracious! The kids loved every minute of today! Kaleb even answered questions in gospel meeting and I wasn't even there....he must be feeling quite at home. I thought that was pretty brave of him since he normally is pretty shy.

Early Happy Birthday

Monday, October 18th

For the past several months Mariah loves singing Happy Birthday to herself. Today, I found her with chips placed in her sandwinch, singing Happy Birthday to herself and blowing out her chip 'candles'! Very creative! She has been patiently waiting for Ole, Aunt Auddie and Uncle David to get home today that I'm glad she has been creative.
WELCOME HOME!!!!
Audrin and Ole were released today (Monday the 18th) after 1 week in the hospital! We are sooo glad they are home! Trying to keep 2 kids entertained in an apartment requires some creativity on momma's part. It's cold and rainy outside...typical for Oregon...but not motivation to go outside! Anyway, we are glad to be able to center our attention around Ole and his mommy and daddy!

Sound asleep after a car ride home but there is no way Mariah is going to keep him in his car seat! =)

The first hold!

Kaleb's first feed!

Watching sleeping boy in his new crib...doesn't he look cozy?
Nothing like having some eye contact with your baby!

BATH TIME!

Aunt JoJo got to give Ole his first bath on mommy's bed while mommy watched! We did the swaddled bath and he did pretty good! Nothing like a clean baby!
After bath time we couldn't resist a few wide awake shots! And look at them feet....like daddy-like son!

Audrin has never been able to sit still and after a week in the hospital she is ready to get out! So, yes, she came home from the hospital yesterday and we are already out at the park! You may wonder about my judgement as big sister but my little sister let me know her health and sanity were at stake if she did not get out of the house....I couldn't argue. We all enjoyed the little outing...especially the kids.

Wednesday - October 2oth
Deanna brought Justin down from Portland this afternoon. He was able to fly in for the night to see us! Mariah and Kaleb haven't seen him since Mother's Day when we met up with him in ABQ for supper...so, it was great to be able to meet up again. We stayed up way to late playing Rook! Good times.

Thursday, October 21st
Justin took the kids to the park while Audrin met with a home health nurse. It looks like Justin had a little bit of fun with Mariah...especially the posing part! We all went and did a little shopping. Kaleb's bday is in 2 days and I need to figure out what to get him! Justin stayed until late afternoon and then had to head back to Portland for an early morning flight. We are sooo glad we got to see him
With a new baby who only eats and sleeps, you can probably tell me what 2 little munchkins are going to do....you got it! A lot of mimicking! So here I found Kaleb and Mariah feeding the babies! =)

There isn't much that gets accomplished in a day around the apartment. A normal day would consist of getting the kids and I fed breakfast around 8 and then get Kaleb started on his school work. David and Audrin would emerge from their bedroom between 9 and 10 (of course some mornings David worked) and then they would try and get their coffee and breakfast! Then it was Ole's turn! And it just seemed that as quickly as the night turned into day that the day turned into night! I quickly realized that as cute and as good as little Ole is, I did NOT want a 3rd! Nathan was a bit concerned that I would come to Oregon and want a 3rd! Isn't he lucky that it isn't the case?

Mariah had some consistent sayings and this is what you would hear all during the day: Where you baby? Is her sleeping? ("Mariah, he is a boy") Is him sleeping? You pumpin? Her in hers crib? ("Mariah, he is a boy") Hims in hims crib? ( Ole squeaking) Hims cryin, hims need you! (ignoring Mariah) Go get him now! AND the conversations would start again! To hear my sister reenact this is hilarious!

Finally some pictures with Aunt JoJo!
Friday, October 22nd
Today we finally got packed up to go over to the Maloney's beach house! It's a little over an hour drive but a beautiful drive and because the fall colors have arrived, it's even more beautiful! We'll come back to Corvallis tomorrow for a planned shower for Audrin at Dean and Phyllis's. Plus it is Kaleb's bday so we'll do a little party for him too.

COLORS! Glad to be getting some type of fall!

Sunday, October 24th

Today, after meeting, we ended up taking some pics on a train track that was situated out in the middle of nowhere...it was beautiful scenery!

We had lunch with Tony and Martha and then to gospel meeting. We ended up leaving Corvallis to go back to the beach house to spend a few more days there!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy to my dear sweet Kaleb! I cannot believe you are 6! What an amazing boy you are....so sweet, obedient, helpful, kind, loving! You still love hunting so daddy has gotten you a bow and arrow for your birthday! You are loving school which is great.....in fact, you get up in the morning very promptly to get your clothes on, eat breakfast, get your backpack ready, brush your teeth, and in the car by 7:45! I love that you are excited to go to school! You love to color and draw! Putting together puzzles has been very fun for you too! You are doing great at throwing a football...quite an arm you have! You still love your tortillas, egg and cheese or tortillas and cheese and meat! I am so thankful to have you as my son!

Gpa Kurt and Gma Renee with the kiddos. We have LOVED getting to know them! They have been sooo helpful with the kids since I've been in OR helping Audrin. We had Kaleb's bday party at their house tonight....thank you for hosting such a wonderful time! The kids love their new grandparents! =)

Photo Shoot of Ole

Sunday night we headed back to the Maloney's beach house in Newport right off Hwy 101! I love that Hwy along the west coast! It's a beautiful drive along the coast up into Washington and down into California! Even though the weather wasn't cooperating, it was still awesome to watch the waves and hear the ocean at night. What a relaxing time! We did some shopping at a nearby outlet mall but really we just hung out and enjoyed ourselves! We got to see Lee and Lisa Newman one evening...they came over to get a look at the new addition! Wednesday afternoon we headed back to Corvallis.
