Watrous Valley Ranch

Beautiful scenery going out to the Watrous Valley Ranch were Casey and Carrie (Spinar) Norman manage this enormous ranch of cattle. Nathan had to be out of town for the week so I decided to see what life is like on the ranch with Casey and Carrie for a few days! What a wonderful time we had.

Quote for the Day

Good thought for me today: "Jesus kept clean when others where unclean. He wasn't affected by contagious people but had the power within him that actually healed men. He didn't conform to others thinking or attitudes but had the power within him to change others. I am thankful this power and this same Spirit is available to us if we are willing for it."

Silly Hair and Faces

Mariah can be quite a clown. She had worn 2 'pony's yesterday for mtg and woke up looking like this! She decided to pose some of her faces. Some how she found her 'nene' this morning which added to the pose!

Enjoying the Winter Sun

The sun poked its face out today and the kids were enjoying the rays from the porch. It has been a cold winter and I am sure we have lots more to endure! With the elevation near 7000 ft it can get quite chilly and the NM wind can cut right to the bone.

Puzzle Lover

Kaleb is amazing with puzzles. This one is a 100 piece puzzle and he can do it in about 30 minutes. He is doing 300 piece puzzles but he does like my help a little! I am so proud of his patience!

Quote for the Day

I ran across this quote again that I love..."Anyone can count the seeds in an apple; but only God can count the apples in each seed!" We never know what God is doing with a 'dying' life. He is well able...we must be willing!

After Uncle Durwards funeral

Has to try the shoes on!
Cousin Dee with Mariah
My mom's first cousins Jeanie and Joy...love them!
My great Aunt Ann
A long day...Uncle Durward's funeral was today. There was a service in Colorado Springs and he was buried in Ft. Logan near Denver, CO. Such a neat man! He was my mom's uncle (brother to her dad). Uncle Durward was the last one standing of the 11 Timmon siblings.

Happy Birthday, Micah

Amber and Mariah
Matt with Micah and Isaiah

We met Matt and Amber back in AR when I took care of their little boy, Isaiah, in the NICU. They are living in Co.Springs and we were able to come up for Micah's bday party. Neat to see them after 5 years. The bday was at a gymnastic place and the kids had a hoot of a time.

Good-Bye Uncle Durward

Uncle Durward with my Gigi (mom's mom; she passed away in 2/07)
Uncle Durward with his wife, Ann of 66 years
Uncle Durward (referred to as "Pops") will always be remembered by his amazing stories and contagious laugh! He was a Spanish teacher for years to H.S. students in Virginia. He fought in WWII with the Army Air Corps serving as a bombardier in N. Africa and Italy and later serving in the Korean war. He is one of 10 Timmons children and was the last one standing! We will miss you Uncle Durward. So glad we got to see you last weekend!

Quote for the Day

A thght from yest has been good for me: "Sometimes we get so caught up in fighting AGAINST something that we forget we are fighting FOR something so precious! Do we see the weeds and not the seed...are we consumed by trying to do good that we forget to feed our faith...do we worry abt what others think more than what God thinks...do we concentrate on the enemy or what we have on our side to help us be victorious?"

Colorado Mountains

We live right on the NM/CO border. Today we went to Pueblo/Co Springs area for the day! Beautiful sights....the first picture is of an old church in the Raton pass...a very popular place for people to stop and take pics. In fact, many artist paint pictures of this building. The mountains are breath-taking. We were able to see my mom's cousin, D, and his family today. We also were able to see Uncle Durward who is on hospice care. So glad it worked out...he told lots of stories from the war! He is very tired and worn out so we didn't stay long. I had a real urge to see him today!

Great-Great-Great Aunt Ruby

It is hard to believe but this is great-great-great Aunt Ruby to these kids. This is Nathan's great grandmother's sister. His g-gma, Goldie is still living in AR and Aunt Ruby lives in Raton, NM. It has been really special to be in contact with family we had never met before. They only live a few miles from us here in Raton.
