Seeing the Cousins

Today we saw sweet precious Allie and the rest of the sweet cousins....they were too busy playing to take pics! =) Mariah was all taken up with the baby!!!

On the Road to AR

July 29th: Today found me on the road again back to Arkansas. Kaleb will be starting kindergarten in less than a month and I need to get a few things for winter (yep, I said it...winter just finished for us here). We need to meet Ms. Allie and just check on things back home. Plus, who knows when we will be able to make it back to Arkansas to see everyone. I'm thinking there will be a huge reality check for us once Kaleb is back in school.

Moon Lit Nite

It was fun to set up my new tripod and experiment with long exposure times on this moon lit night! The colors amaze me!

What a Shot!

Here is a picture of the 2 prairie dogs that we were able to recover
that kaleb shot! He shot a total of 4 but the other 2 fell down in
their hole where we couldn't get them.

He used my old .22LR with scope. We set up the truck and he stood in
the bed and used the roof as a rest. I would adjust it to get the dog
where he could see it and then it was up to him. Most shots were 80 to
115 yds out!!

Then I had Mariah in the back and she was our reloader. We had such a
great time that we lost track of time. Went straight thru lunch and
ended up spending 4 hrs out there just shooting away.

Kaleb was on a soccer league this summer! He loved it and did really well.

Kids Do the Funniest Things

Someone was telling me at convention how she and an older lady were discussing the future of the kingdom in children and stable families...Mariah and I walked by, as if, confirming their comments BUT 2 seconds later, unknown to me, Mariah stopped, bent over, and spit on the ground! Things to keep you humble! =)

Mt. Aire Convention #2

We had a wonderful convention at Mt. Aire. Nana and Poppa came for the whole convention which was very exciting. Wonderful to meet several of the families here from NM. Wonderful spiritual bread. Uncle Ollie came home with us Sunday night. Olan lived with my family in Texas for awhile! He became a little brother to me...so awesome to see him again after many years of being apart. The kids loved him as well!

'Flying' Over Raton

Our town of Raton has about 6000 people with a Kmart and a small grocery store. Not many options but glad for the ones we do have!

July 4th - What Does It Mean to You?

Does it mean 'just another holiday' or 'a time to get together with family and friends', or 'fireworks and food', or, 'another day off work' or

'INDEPENDENCE, FREEDOM, OPPORTUNITY'?

There was a huge price paid for our freedoms today and so often WE as AMERICA take it for granted. Let us not forget those that have fought to make us free Americans...thank you!

Eagle Nest for July 4th

This picture was taken in Ute Park area on US 64 between Cimarron and Eagle Nest, NM near the Cimarron Canyon State Park. Amazing views that cannot be put into words....just 'awh' moments!

Fun times at Eagle Nest with special friends, the Pittmans. They invited us over to a family play area that had horses, a park, and some 'bouncy' activities. They grilled hamburgers and we watched some awesome fireworks.

Pueblo Zoo

A Red Panda, which I have never seen was a cute little creature to watch! It truly looks like a panda in the face but is bigger than a cat with a big bushy tail.

I don't know anyone who really likes bats but for some reason watching these things behind glass was intriguing.

Nothing like seeing the lions up close....they even had a little 'tiff' session while we watched. The zoo has a glassed in area where it comes inside their pen at their watering hole. We could of reached out and practically touched them while they were drinking.

What would we do without a Playground?

So thankful for parks and a school across the street that has this setup! Not much to do in Raton so when all else fails, we head to the playground...always can use the sunshine!
