The Girl with a Curl

Thankfully she is NOT a horrid little girl..she IS very active and adventurous and keeps me on my toes.

Apple Blossoms

We have an apple tree in our backyard that is starting to bloom. Our landlord told us that the bears usually pick the trash cans over the apples...go figure and thank goodness! The black bears should be coming out in the next couple of weeks! They say they are like big raccoons and they don't usually bother anyone! I am kind of nervous about them.

Can you tell what we like to do?

We travel about 30 minutes to enjoy this park in Trinidad, CO! It has a neat play area with lots of places to ride bikes. In the summer the area Kaleb is riding in becomes a fountain of water! I have no idea when summer will arrive since it is still cold and we are wearing jackets!

Praire Dog Shootin

We went praire dog shootin this afternoon. What a fun time. The kids got to practice with the .22 while daddy had fun putting away a few pest! The kids wanted to see the praire dogs up close so after we were done we found one Nathan had shot...Nathan had pegged it right in the belly which blew out 2 of her premature babies! What a shot! Of course the kids thought that was pretty 'cool'! Just glad I was raised on a farm with a nursing degree otherwise it might of gotten to me!

The setup!

A proud kill...while hunting prairie dogs a ground squirrel popped up and Nathan killed him. The rest of the afternoon Kaleb practiced his shot at the squirrel...needless to say the squirrel was pretty mutilated by the end of the day. Kaleb had an awesome shot.

"Umm, where is that squirrel...it should be right about here?"

"Oh, there it is...now I must get my ear protection on."

While we were praire dog hunting a storm rolled in...I loved how the light was shining on this dormant tree.

Faces

This girl is full of faces...somedays she cooperates and lets me get a couple on camera but it is hard to catch! I love her spunk!

A friend to play with....

Another fun time at a park....great for mommies to get together and chat and kids to wear themselves out on the playground. Antanella and Mariah both have mind of their own but have a fun time together being bossy!

Play Time

After a long drive home from AR this was a much needed break today! Yesterday the kids got out for lunch and supper, about an hour a piece....the rest of the time was spent in their car seats. They did fantastic!

This was Mariah's first time down the 'big' slide. Her 'bubby' is sooo sweet to help her...you can tell they had a fun ride down!

I love that kids can slide down a slide a million times and never get tired....they will wear you out at the swings before they tire of swinging...they will holler a million times, 'mommy, look at me'! I know these times are not for long. I must enjoy every moment!

After this little park outing we went to downtown Trinidad and found an ice cream palor...a perfect way to treat wonderful kids and spend a great time together.

Headed back to NM

I've been home in AR almost 3 weeks. I've missed my sweet husband! It is hard leaving family and friends but we have some very special friends here in Raton, although few in number. A beautiful drive back to NM this time! More green and color popping out. These fields of yellow were gorgeous. I have no idea what kind of crop they are! Made it back to NM in 13 1/2 hours after some detours and a stop by a cop. Most the detours were due to my fault in not listening to the GPS! I thought it was a straight shot...but I found out to stay on Hwy 412 there are several turn offs! Caught going 62 in a 55 but thankfully he gave me a warning.

More Friends!

After the special meeting company left, the Sutton clan arrived! Time for some games! I had not played games in a long time! What a long, fun, evening. I ended up spending another night at Jim and Laura's and had a very relaxing time! Thanks you Uncle Jim and Aunt LaLa!

Special Meeting Time

It'll be Rogers Special Meeting this weekend. Thursday night I came over to Jim and Laura's to help clean and prepare for lunch tomorrow. Several workers would be coming and I wanted to get in on the privilege. What a nice time we had. It was definitely nice to have 2 women preparing while her kids watched my kiddos. Some good laughs and Jim decided he enjoyed having more women in the house....I don't think he knows what he is saying...give him a couple days and he'd change his mind. He just thought all the cooking, and cleaning were extra special! Very funny, Jim!

Special Meeting Surprise

We felt very fortuante to get in a special surprise visit from Glenda! We snuck out to the farm to have supper with her! We do miss her! She labored in our part for several years (4 years?) and now we are sharing her with Missouri! Glad we got to see her!

Meeting Friends

We met Kyle and Kolby, and of course their mom, at Chick-Fil-A! Great time to catch up and watch the kids play! Kiddos have been missing play time with their buddies out in Raton.

A Kite Flying Time

Kaleb was so glad to get his kite out in Arkansas. I'm not sure how far we ended up letting it out but it took forever to wind up the string. Something about flying a kite!
