Angel Fire

What a fun day! We put Mariah in day care and Kaleb in ski school. Nathan and I had the day to ourselves on the slopes....together! We felt like we were on our honeymoon again! Such a needed break!

Kaleb in Ski School for the day!

There he goes with his instructor

Here he comes....

Down the hill with dad after a day of school.
Kaleb says he likes the french fry position more than the pizza slice! Obviously he has a little need for speed! Hope that doesn't transfer over to the driving days!

A much better boy!

A quick update to say that Kaleb has improved significantly today! Mariah had this cough last week but it never progressed into bronchitis like Kaleb. Just glad for a happier looking boy today!

Kaleb One Sick Boy

Kaleb started coughing Saturday night and now today his eyes look glazed with a tinge of blue in his lips. I don't like how he looks and its so challenging to be in a new town with no doctor or even a clue what doctor is recommended. I found a clinic at the hospital in Trinidad, CO about 30 mins away. So, off we went! His oxygen level was 90% and wheezing throughout! His doctor told me that if the meds didn't take effect by tomorrow that he would need breathing treatments. I'm not a steroid lover for kids but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I'm thankful he was giving us until tomorrow. He put him on an abx and gave us Tylenol with Coedine for the cough (I love this stuff for the night time.)

Clayton Special Meeting

Today we headed to Clayton, about 2 hours away, for our special meeting. We took Betty Barnett from Trinidad with us. None of the others in our mtg could go. We had a very special day with special people.

A visit to Santa Fe

We were so happy it worked out that PawPaw and Jidgie, my grandparents, came up to Santa Fe to see their daughter, Aunt Jann, after we got to Raton. The kids got lots of loving from thier Great Grand-parents. I'm sooo thankful they know them...they are special people. We went down on Friday afternoon and came back on Saturday.

Pictures near Jarrett and Glory's home and off Aunt Jann's patio.

Mariah found the bowl of mandarian oranges set out for appetizers. She decided to make the whole bowl hers.

Special Meeting Company

Carl Nelson and Ross from Washington came for supper and the night! We had a great visit! Kaleb had a great time playing dominoes, Go Rook, and whatever else the 'boys' came up with! We met Ross at Cimmaron Special mtg but Carl was visiting another area. So when I asked about Carl and if he had any allergies to food the response I got was, "no, in fact, he loves to eat...usually eats 5-6 times a day." So in my mind a got a picture of a very large older man! I was a bit worried because the toilet in our bathroom is small and sits close to the ground. Anyway, I had to tell Carl what my picture of him was before he arrived and why...we all had a good laugh. Because I pictured him as an older man I didn't think he'd like to play Rook. Well, was I wrong. We all enjoyed a game or two or three of Rook! We hadn't played that in forever!

Arrival to Raton, NM - New Work Assignment

We were all home during the Christmas holidays which was very special! So awesome to be home in our OWN bed for a few weeks. Nathan came out to Raton to start work January 5th (Tuesday) and then drove back home to AR Jan 8th (Friday). He had taken out his truck and ended up bringing it back. Monday the 11th, he flew to NJ for some training and came home Wed night the 13th. Poor guy has been on the road.

Thurs, the 14th, we picked up our Uhaul and the expedition, which had been in the shop, and started packing our boxes. Thankfully we didn't have to take much furniture because our rental is pretty much furnished. I am taking a few things to make it more 'ours' and more homey. Men just don't understand that! Alderinks stopped by to help us...so thoughtful. Jim and Justin stopped by to say 'good-bye' and look at the possiblilty of working on the site in NM with Nathan. That would be fun.

Friday, the 15th, we finally got off! It was only 11 1/2 hours and the kids did great all the way to Raton! We got to unpack some on Saturday....of course we had a big incentive to get things done...we had special mtg company coming and a potluck on Wed the 20th!!! =)

Monday, January 18th, started the special mtgs in this area. We were able to drive over to Cimmaron, about 40 mins away, to Dave and Judy Hughes home for an evening mtg. This is Lori Bryans folks. Special to be so close to them.

Snow in Arkansas

Nothing like waking up to pure, white snow! Kaleb was sooo ready to get out in it! Of course, that made Mariah anxious to. So, on with the layers of clothes. It seems to take forever to get all the layers on...esp. with Mariah. Kaleb is great about dressing himself. Out they went...fun, fun! What's that I hear? Yep, Mariah is ready to come in about 10 mins later! She was too cold! She had taken off her gloves and her poor hands were frozen! So much for all the work getting her winter clothes on. =) With our time in Canada last year I'm not to ready to get out in it either. Let's go have some hot chocolate, Mariah! I don't blame you!
